This sweet, minty, tangy lemonade recipe is my version of Chick-fil-A’s famous Watermelon Mint Lemonade.

Every summer, my family would take a road trip to east Texas to see my great-grandparents. If you’ve never been there, let me tell you it is incredibly rural and has plenty of farm charm. My great-grandparents lived on enough land that could be classified as a small farm, and the only thing you’d see for miles was fresh watermelon fields. Boy, was it a site to see!

Easy Watermelon Mint Lemonade

I am no rookie, I’ve been eating fresh watermelon my whole life! You can imagine my delight when I discovered that Chick-fil-A sold a Watermelon Mint Lemonade that was so delicious! These days, I don’t eat out much, but I still enjoy freshly made lemonade. I’ve been tweaking the ingredients for this recipe for a while now, and this recipe is a very close copycat version to the beloved one many of us enjoy!

I kid you not, I make this one often, and my family loves it. The summers here in Texas are scorching and humid, and this drink is perfect for cooling off in over 100-degree weather!

Watermelon – About 8 cups of cubed watermelon

Sugar – The sugar is used to make a mint-infused simple syrup

Lemons – I use about 8 lemons or about enough to make about 1 1/2 cups of lemon juice

Mint – I use a lot of mint for this lemonade. I am talking two bunches! One bunch is used to infuse the simple syrup, and the other is used to infuse the watermelon juice

HOW TO MAKE WATERMELON MINT LEMONADE

  1. Make the simple syrup: Add the water and sugar to a saucepan. Mix well and stir the ingredients until the sugar is dissolved. Turn off the heat, then add the mint and cover with a lid. Allow the mint to remain in the simple syrup until it has cooled.
  2. Blend the watermelon: Add the watermelon chunks to a blender and blend to remove all large chunks. Then, strain the pulp using a mesh strainer.
  3. Stir: Add the watermelon juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a pitcher and stir together well.
  4. Serve: Add ice and serve with fresh mint leaves and lemon wheels.
