A delicious, healthy smoothie bowl packed with pineapple, mango, banana, greek yogurt and orange juice. These smoothie bowls are naturally sweetened with a touch of honey but feel free to leave it out if you are worried about added sweetener. I call it the Rise and Shine smoothie bowl because it is filled with all of the right things to get your day started right. This recipe is made with only a handful of ingredients and is ready in minutes!
Homemade smoothie bowls are a brilliant choice for those of us looking for a quick way to eat healthy while also gaining more energy at the same time. Speaking from personal experience, smoothies and smoothie bowls were often what I turned to when my kids were young, and I was dead tired. I’d like to think I wouldn’t have had the energy to work full-time and raise my kids without the extra boost I received from smoothies.
Back then, I was always on the go and purchased all of my smoothies. This consisted of me fighting through traffic, waiting at a drive-through window, and crossing my fingers that they got my order right. The smoothies were good, but they were loaded with tons of sugar, unnecessary filler, and always terribly overpriced in my opinion. These days the average cost of smoothies is $11.00 and smoothie bowls are about $12.00 each. You’ll save so much time and money making healthier smoothie bowls at home, for a fraction of the cost.
Smoothie bowls are not just for breakfast either. These delicious frozen treats can be enjoyed as a light lunch, snack, dessert, or anytime you choose! Try smoothie bowls topped with fresh fruit, granola, chia seeds, or drizzled with honey for an even tastier smoothie bowl with a delicious combination of flavor and texture.

SMOOTHIE BOWL MAKE AHEAD AND STORING INFORMATION
If you are wondering if you can make smoothie bowls ahead or if you can store them
- Prep the ingredients ahead of time by placing the fruit in this recipe together into a freezer-safe bag. I especially like this option because I like to freeze my fresh fruit for smoothies, which gives my leftover fruit a new life.
- You can also freeze the blended smoothies. To freeze blended smoothies, first make the smoothies according to the recipe, then immediately place them into an airtight container or freezer-friendly storage bag.

Yogurt – I like using Greek yogurt, but any yogurt will work here.
Mango – frozen, diced
Pineapple – frozen, diced
Banana – You can use fresh banana, or frozen. Using frozen bananas will result in a smoothie with a thicker consistency.
Orange juice – store-bought or freshly squeezed.
Honey – Just a little touch of honey is all we need here, but it is optional.
HOW TO MAKE SMOOTHIE BOWLS
Follow these steps to make this recipe:
- Blend: Load the blender with the juice, greek yogurt, honey, and the fruit. Blend on low speed, then ramp up to high speed and blend until thick.
- Divide and Top: Divide the smoothie between two bowls, then top with fresh fruit and granola.
PRO TIPS FOR MAKING THIS RECIPE
- Load the ingredients correctly. This helps prevent air pockets from forming around the blender’s blade, which could cause the blender to stall, resulting in a smoothie with a chunky consistency. For smoother, completely blended smoothies, be sure to add the ingredients in the correct order.
- The fruit. You can buy frozen fruit just about everywhere, however, I love to clean and freeze my fruit for smoothies. I enjoy this because it helps me reduce food waste, by giving my older, leftover fruit a new life.
- The sweetener. Customizing this smoothie bowl includes omitting the honey, or adding any alternatives you choose including stevia, agave, and other options.
