These smoky chipotle patties are so juicy and packed with so much flavor that they’ll easily become a cookout favorite!

During grilling season, I often find myself outside more than ever, and I know that I am not alone here. Grilling season is the perfect time for outdoor gatherings and amazing food, even in the Texas heat. Ha! Yes, I am very much an American through and through. So it comes as a surprise to absolutely no one that burgers of any kind have to be on the menu for my outside gatherings.

Over the years, I have been on a quest to create and enjoy the perfect burger. I’ve finally concluded that the perfect burger doesn’t exist. At least to me, that is. Why? Well, because there isn’t just one perfect burger! Each burger has its own special personality if you will. All unique and delicious! With so many flavor options to choose from, you can’t go wrong and won’t get tired.

This Smokey Chipotle Burger is no exception. It is packed with everything a burger needs in order to be considered a perfect burger. It’s smokey and tangy with a hint of sweetness and heat. I don’t think you could ask for more flavor in a burger here.

HOW TO MAKE CHIPOTLE BURGER PATTIES

Grill these burgers outside on your favorite wood or gas grill. They also cook really well indoors on a cast iron skillet or griddle.

This burger is filled with so many wonderful aromatics from the seasonings, the herbs, the garlic, and the sugar. Yum! Here is a list of the ingredients you will need:

Ground Beef: I use an 80/20 ground chuck mix. It gives the burger a very nice mouth feel while producing the juiciest burgers. However, you can always cut back on the fact and use a 90/10 mix if you like.

Cheddar Cheese: I used white cheddar, but any cheese will work well here!

Brioche Buns: These buttery, sweet buns work so well here.

Bread Crumbs: I love to use seasoned panko breadcrumbs in this recipe.

Lime Juice: Adds flavor and freshness to these burger patties. It also helps tenderize the beef.

Garlic: It’s universally loved for a reason! I love the depth of flavor fresh garlic adds to these patties.

Chipotle peppers: Gives these burgers a nice smoky flavor.

Brown Sugar: I like using brown sugar, as it adds just the right amount of sweetness to the burgers.

Seasonings: Cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, and onion powder are added with the perfect amount of salt, and pepper (to taste of course).

Oregano: I use a bit of dried oregano. I am typically a fresh herbs kind of girl, so don’t be afraid to toss in a little fresh oregano if you have any on hand.
