This Homemade Salsa is loaded with tons of tomatoes, fresh peppers, and spices. It is so DELICIOUS that you will never want to buy jarred sauce again!

During summer, or as I like to call it hot season here in Texas, nothing is more satisfying than a nice margarita served alongside my favorite homemade salsa.

This salsa recipe is not only flavorful, it is also so EASY to make! All you do is grab your veggies, toss them in the blender, and pulse it until your desired consistency is reached. That’s it and that’s all!

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS SALSA RECIPE

I’m a big believer in layering in flavor. That’s why this salsa recipe has a combination of fresh Roma tomatoes along with canned fire-roasted tomatoes. YUM! This recipe also has tons of peppers including fresh jalapeno, serrano peppers, and roasted canned peppers. Add as many or as little peppers as you like it is totally customizable.

SALSA INGREDIENTS

Jump to the bottom of the recipe card below this post for full ingredient measurements and instructions.

Roma Tomatoes – If you are going to make an authentic, restaurant-style salsa, then roma tomatoes are the only way to go. If Roma tomatoes are not sold near you, any tomatoes will work.

Fire-Roasted Tomatoes – The fire-roasted tomatoes give this salsa a nice smoky flavor.

Chili Peppers  – I love the combination of fresh serrano and jalapeno peppers in this salsa recipe. If you can’t find serrano peppers where you live, sub them with jalapeno or any green chili peppers.

Onion – I use about 1/2 of a small onion

Garlic – 2 cloves is all you need

Lime Juice – The juice of 1 lime

Cilantro – 1 small bunch of cilantro

Spices – My special blend contains, cumin, chili powder, and sugar.

HOW TO MAKE SALSA

  1. Rough chop the vegetables: Roughly chop the Roma tomatoes, chili peppers, onion, and cilantro.
  2. Pulse the Ingredients: Add the ingredients, in batches, to a blender and pulse to remove all large chunks.
  3. Check the Seasoning: Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning if needed.
