THE MOST REFRESHING LEMONADE

You know I am a fan of having easy, go-to recipes to keep in your back pocket! This lemonade is no exception. Lemonade is easy to make, but it is also important to realize that an excellent lemonade recipe will strike the perfect balance between tangy and sweet.

LEMONADE INGREDIENTS

Lemons – About 1o lemons, juiced and zested

Water – Spring, distilled or filtered, you choose. Plain old tap works fine though.

Sugar – I use 1 1/2 cups of cane sugar, but feel free to use and adjust the sugar accordingly.

HOW TO MAKE LEMONADE

Follow these simple steps to make delicious lemonade:

  1. Make The Simple Syrup – Add one cup of water along with all of the sugar to a saucepan. Stir well and allow to simmer until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  2. Juice & Zest The Lemons – Begin by first zesting the lemons, then juice them and set aside.
  3. Mix – In a glass pitcher, add together the lemon juice, water, and simple syrup. Mix well to combine. Place the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to chill.
  4. Serve – Remove the lemonade from the refrigerator and serve over ice.

TIPS TO MAKE THE BEST LEMONADE

  1. Zest your lemons before juicing
  2. Taste as you go. Always be sure to check the amount of sugar and adjust accordingly.
  3. Allow the simple syrup to cool down completely before adding to your lemonade.
  4. Use small to medium-sized, ripe lemons.
  5. Place lemons in the microwave for 10-15 seconds for easier squeezing.
